School Water Project in Afganistan

Nerox School Project has been developed to teach children about hygiene through taking responsibility of their own drinking water.

It was conducted as a pilot project together with WFP Afghanistan as a part of the school feeding programme. Cooperation with a local manufacturer making the water containers added local involvement to the project. Scan-Water provided at site staff training and installation.

In this project it was emphasised to use local craftsmen to make the water containers. Scan-Waters technical department made the guidelines for the design. Standard components and Nerox-filters were adapted to the kit.

Scan-Water School project helps organisations to meet the Millennium _Development Goals by providing safe drinking water for school children. Safe drinking water is essential for children’s health and learning ability.
